Overview
Colorado State University is committed to academic excellence and innovative musical training, offering students the skills and experience necessary to become highly skilled music educators, music therapists, performing artists, and conductors.
Master of Music (M.M.)
The Master of Music, Performance Option at Colorado State University provides students with a comprehensive approach to the study and performance of literature in all styles and idioms of music. Curriculum is designed to develop musicianship, technical proficiency, and cultural awareness in both performance and pedagogy, and individualized programs of study are based on each student’s goals and needs. The performance option prepares students with outstanding performance potential to be competitive in performance and teaching careers and to advocate for the arts in both WICHE states and beyond. Those who complete the program fill a need for skilled performers of solo and small and large ensemble music and university teachers and help meet the considerable community demand for excellent private studio teachers.
A music audition is required for entrance into this program.
