About the keynote speaker: Dr. Jonathan Schwabish
Dr. Jonathan Schwabish is considered a leader in the data visualization field and an advocate for clarity and accessibility in research. He has written extensively about best practices for data visualization, including technical aspects of creation, design best practices, and accessibly communicating social science research.
His economic research primarily focuses on nutrition policies and policies that affect people with disabilities. He is a Senior Fellow at the Urban Institute, where he is a researcher in the Tax and Income Supports Division and a member of the Institute’s Communication team.
Through his work, Dr. Schwabish helps nonprofits, research institutions, and governments at all levels improve how they communicate their work and findings to their partners, constituents, and citizens. His four books—Better Presentations; Elevate the Debate; Better Data Visualizations, and Data Visualization in Excel—provide guides for people interested in improving how they work with, present, and communicate data-heavy content.
