How to Submit Official Transcripts Once Admitted

All graduate students must submit their official transcripts from each institution they’ve attended before or during their first semester. If these documents are not submitted, a hold will be placed on your registration for future semesters until the documents are received. Failure to submit official transcripts in the specified time frame may result in your dismissal from the Graduate School.

The process to submit official transcripts is different for domestic and international transcripts.

Transcripts from U.S. Institutions

Required transcripts should be sent directly from your previous institution to Colorado State University. Visit the website of your previous institution(s) for information on how to order official transcripts.

International Transcripts

Required transcripts and/or diplomas can be delivered in two ways:

Mailed to:

Graduate School
Colorado State University
1005 Campus Delivery
Fort Collins, CO 80523

Brought to the Graduate School during normal business hours:

Colorado State University
Graduate School
108 Student Services
Fort Collins CO 80523-1005

Official transcripts cannot be electronically uploaded to the application, nor can they be emailed by you or your institution. More information about what an official transcript contains is described below.

Additional requirements for students with international transcripts

Review these additional requirements for international transcripts when submitting official AND unofficial transcripts/diplomas:

  • Include official transcripts of all collegiate work completed post-high school.
  • If the transcript does not show the degree and date awarded, a diploma must be submitted.
  • If the native language is not English, the transcript must be submitted in BOTH the native language along with a certified English translation. Additionally, separate transcripts are required for study abroad if the courses, grades, and credits are not recorded on the transcript of the university that sponsored the study abroad.
  • Records bearing the original stamp or seal of the school official responsible for issuing such records (the registrar, principal, controller of exams, etc.) are considered official. Officially certified documents (attested by the University or apostilled) are accepted.
  • Records certified by lecturers, professors, or any other school officials who do not hold primary responsibility for maintaining the academic records of the institution are not official. Notarized copies of transcripts/credentials are not accepted in lieu of official or official certified documents.
  • Applicants from India: Semester or annual marksheets, and the degree certificate are required. College-issued transcripts will only be accepted from autonomous colleges. Consolidated mark sheets are not accepted unless all attempts, retakes, and failures are included.
  • Applicants from the People’s Republic of China: Official graduation and degree certificates in native language with English translation are required.
