Key Strategic & Institutional Partners Award

Key Strategic & Institutional Partners Award Program

Students from Key Strategic and Institutional Partner institutions who meet CSU qualifications and matriculate will receive one of the following awards dependent upon their graduate assistantship status. No special requests are required to participate in the award programs; however, students should self-identify as a student from a Key Strategic or Institutional Partner institution with Chad Hoseth in the Office of International Programs. Students will not be limited to awards over a set number of years as long as they are enrolled in resident instruction degree programs and are making satisfactory progress toward their degree.

Graduate assistants must maintain their assistantship status to remain eligible for the Resident Tuition/Tuition Premium Award Program. Students may participate in only one award program at a time.

33% Tuition Award Program

  • Master’s or PhD students who are not awarded graduate assistantship positions will receive awards that cover 33% of their nonresident tuition.

Resident Tuition/Tuition Premium Award Program

  • Master’s and PhD students who receive a 20 hour or .5FTE graduate assistantship will receive a Tuition Premium Award. The amount of the stipend will vary by department, by the number of hours of their appointment, and by the duties assigned.
  • Master’s and PhD students who receive a 10 hour or .25FTE graduate assistantship will receive a 50% Tuition Premium Award. This award provides funding for 50% of the costs related to the difference between resident and nonresident tuition. Departments typically provide 50% of the funding toward students’ resident tuition. Students should contact their respective departments for confirmation. Students will also receive a stipend. The amount of the stipend will vary by department, by the number of hours of their appointment, and by the duties assigned.
  • Students awarded assistantships with FTE percentages different from those listed above receive tuition and stipends on a prorated basis.
